Thanet College is the largest local provider of training and education and offers a wide range of flexible courses for all ages and backgrounds. If you are a school leaver wanting to gain further qualifications, currently employed and wanting to improve your career prospects or interested in courses for your personal achievement, then Thanet College is for you.

 

We offer GCSEs, AS/A Levels, GNVQs, Advanced VCEs, NVQs and other respected vocational qualifications in a wide range of subject areas. Thanet College also offers free courses to help people to return to learning and to improve their essential skills.


Superb Facilities
Set in twelve acres by the sea in the historic and picturesque town of
Broadstairs, Thanet College offers a wide range of facilities in a lively,
friendly environment. The College has approximately 2000 full-time and 7000 part-time students. Included within this number are 140 international
students who enrich the College with a diverse range of cultural
experiences.

At the heart of the College is a superb, modern Open Learning Resource
Centre equipped with an extensive library and computer drop-in centre,
access to the Internet and multimedia and the most up-to-date media
production facilities. Our IT facilities are the best in Thanet. Over a
quarter of a million pounds has recently been invested to upgrade and add
further computer suites.

Our good relationship with local employers means that work placements are available for many of our students. We have strong international connections that offer work placements in Europe and beyond. Many of our courses also involve links with schools and colleges abroad.

Student facilities are extensive and include a students’ centre, hair and
beauty salons, a travel agency and gym. There are two student refectories
and Café Campus, our new coffee bar, all of which offer an excellent
selection of meals and snacks. We also have a training restaurant, which is open to the public

 The College’s Hotel and Catering department has received 

Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status and is the only catering department in the South East to hold this award.
