Is
there much choice in occupations?
There are over 150 types of Modern Apprenticeship in over 80 different types of Industry! There is a great variety in which to work and train! Engineering, retail, information technology, floristry, accounting, estate agency, motor maintenance and plumbing to name just a few!

A young person needs to be between 16 and 25 to join a Modern Apprenticeship and complete the MA prior to their 25th birthday. |

How
long does a Modern Apprenticeship last?
There is not a set time to complete the MA as they vary widely in content and size. The length of time taken will depend on the ability of the individual apprentice and employer requirements. FMA's take a minimum of 18 months while AMA's take a minimum of two years. |

Young people participating in Modern Apprenticeships can be either in employment or on a placement with an employer. Those employed will be paid as detailed in the employment contract agreed with the employer. |
Those not employed by the employer are entitled to a minimum allowance of £40 a week. In some cases, the employer or training provider will give the MA a supplement to the allowance. | Over 95% of Modern Apprentices end up employed by the company. | ||
